In 2002, the Hiroshima Flame Walk brought a flame preserved from the ashes of Hiroshima across the United States. The walk originated with Native American leader Tom Dostou and was organized by Jun Yasuda from the Grafton, New York, pagoda. It inspired activists of all faiths as it moved across the country.
